Mach 1 in movie The Hill

The main character in the 2023 baseball movie The Hill drives a really trashed Mach 1 that looks like a mixture of '71 through '73 parts. The storyline takes place in 1971. I can't figure out how the Mustang could possibly look like a 30 year old junkyard refugee when it's only 1 to 3 years...

What is this part called and where can I buy a new one?

I need to replace this "seal" that closes off the gap between the radiator and core support. Arrow is pointing toward the part in question. Hard to look for one on-line when I don't know what it's actually called. What is the correct name? What is it made of? Plastic? Rubber? Not sure...

    First start after long storage?

I need advice on "first start" for a vehicle that's been sitting unused in indoor storage for about 6 years. The engine is a stock 302-2v. The long block was overhauled, the vehicle was driven home from the shop (about 25 miles), and then just parked. I just rebuilt the carb and installed all...

How to replace hood hinge springs?

I just bought a set of repro hood springs from NPD for my Ram Air hood. I've never replaced hood hinge springs before. How is this done? Do I have to take the hood off and remove the hinges from the car, or can they be done in place? Any special tools required?

Single DIN chassis stereo in a '71-'73 Mustang?

Anyone have a single DIN chassis stereo in their '71-'73 Mustang? How did you mount it? Is there a ready-made bezel available for this swap? CJ Pony Parts used to sell one, but that was years ago and they no longer list it. An internet search did not turn up anything. I guess I could modify...

Problem with electric seat back releases0

My '72 convertible came with electric seat back releases as part of the Convenience Group. When either door is opened, the seat back releases are supposed to activate. They used to work properly. At some point they developed a problem. They cycle on-off at about a one second rate...

'73 dealer-installed CB radios and antennas?

Does anyone have information on what make(s) and model(s) of CB radios and antennas were offered as "official" Ford-endorsed dealer-installed accessories for the 1973 model year?  I have that info from 1962 through 1968 (Raytheon Ray-Tel) and somewhat sketchy info for the late 1970s (Ford...

How to reduce PS pump boost?

Anyone have a workable idea on how to reduce the boost from a stock power steering pump, without affecting the visual appearance?  I hate that "pinky finger" power steering feel.  Cheers, Dean

    WTB door speaker wiring harnesses

Looking for a decent set of door speaker wiring harnesses.  Need both sides.  Don't have to be concours quality, but do have to be in good shape and not hacked up, with all connectors intact on both ends.   Thanks, Dean

WTB: '72 AM/FM stereo radio and door spkrs

I'm looking for a '72 factory AM/FM stereo radio and a pair of original door speakers. My car has an aftermarket radio and generic replacement speakers installed at the moment. I could use the speaker wiring harnesses, too, as mine have been hacked up by a previous owner. Thanks! Dean

    New member in D/FW, Texas

Hi, y'all! I'm Dean, a new member from the Dallas / Fort Worth area. My car is a '72 convertible (VIN 2F03F120758, it's listed in the registry, with several photos). I'm a long-time member of the North Texas Mustang Club (since 1987). Do we have any other NTMC members on here?
