    Neighbor's Project

Spotted this near my house recently . . . no fenders, no doors, no interior, quarter panels cut off. Looks like someone has started a project. It's white with blue sills, so I'm guessing it's a '72.

    Runs Like Crap

Looking for ideas - I have a 351C with an Edelbrock 750 cfm carb. It was running & idling fine a couple of weeks ago. The car idles really rough, and it stalls out if you give it some gas; but if you hold the choke flapper partially closed (not all the way, but with just about a third of...

    Aftermarket gas gauge?

My gas gauge doesn't move at all. I tested the sending unit by unplugging the connector at the tank and jumping the two sockets with a wire. (That should ground it, right?) [Editors note - that might be what blew the 20 amp fuse that my cigarette lighter shares.] I replaced the voltage...

    Restomod Ideas

I had a couple of decent restomodding ideas this afternoon. One is about that antenna. I never liked the antenna on our cars. It stands out. I was thinking about a motorized telescoping antenna, but that adds weight. So as I'm driving home tonight, I'm following a new GT that has an...

    Grill Modification

I'm modifying my front end. Lowered the bumper and moved it back, then mounted the spoiler right to the bumper. I've got a 6-inch gap between the grill and bumper to fill in. I'm thinking of doing a sheet of blacked-out diamond plate on the original grill opening. Air for the radiator would...

    EFI conversion

Anybody here done an EFI retrofit/conversion? I'm wondering about the return line. Curious to hear if you used the vapor canister line as a return, or soldered in a fitting at the sending unit. There doesn't seem to be a sending unit for '71-3s that has a return line already installed.

    Bumper relocation

Is it just me, or does that giant '73 front bumper stick out too far and make the car look like it has no chin? I had a fiberglass '73 bumper around (oh, yeah, the factory bumper also weighs too much) so I've lowered it about 5 inches and moved it back so it's about even with the front of the...

    Hello From Newbie

Hello - just joined & wanted to say hi. I have a '73 Mach1 I bought in 1988. It was a daily driver, then a weekend cruiser, then it went into storage for years, and now I'm rebuilding it as a customized/modified street car. I've rebuilt the 351C and installed a 5-speed manual with overdrive.
