    Ride Height

Just a suggestion: you might try calling Eaton Springs. They have lots of data on stock ride heights. Good luck.

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

I’ve got the fenders off to do a thorough job on them. I only want to do this once.

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

Yea, I’m ordering the Eastwood inside frame spay can, with the hose. I used a rod of silver solder with Emory cloth on one end to make a sanding drum to try and clean where it couldn’t reach, using my drill motor with it for extra cleaning. That was an adventure.

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

Ok, so I’m at that point where I have to decide what treatment I'm going to give the undercarriage. Last week I was 100% certain I wanted to do a bed-liner treatment over the POR-15. Today, I’m hedging my bet. Mostly because of the stories I’ve been reading on-line what other cars guys will...

    Tilt steering wheel question

Just found this in the MPAC book: Guess @Hemikiller was right. Thanks everyone. Someone should inform WCCC.

    Tilt steering wheel question

I just wonder why none of the replacement levers say they work with the tilt column?

A Marti report will tell you what your car came with originally. Including the options. Here is a link to their site: https://www.martiauto.com/martireports.cfm Many of us have ours for our cars.

    Frankenstein Mach 1 in Vegas

It looks like a great project, 25 feet away. I’ve got a rust free car also; well, mostly rust free. Making the car perfect is usually not a reasonable goal. A fun, drivable, but with some get up and go isn’t a goal too far, if you’re not trying to put it back to showroom condition, in my...

If you’re going for the budget build, you could, for the time being, just go with the rear axle you have. If it’s not damaged and working, you might want to save money for the unknowns you haven’t encountered yet. For most of us, that list turned out to be very long. Just another idea, good luck.

Welcome from Fort Mohave Az and So Cal. Where are you in Az? That diff looks like the dust on all of my Az patio furniture. Yes, tell us your build plan and more pics. I assume someone replaced the rear end to get rear disk brakes? Welcome!

Don’t be so hard on yourself. We’ve all done it. You might need to reduce your daily alcohol intake. 🤣🤣🤣

    Tilt steering wheel question

Thanks Doug. I wonder if that plastic sleeve that is at the attaching end of the lever can be added to a standard one to create the function?

    Tilt steering wheel question

I had posted this question in my build thread, but I think it got lost. My question is: can I use the rather plain turn signal lever in place of the unique looking tilt lever? I haven’t found one yet and wondered if that was because the stock lever would do the job. Thanks

It’s like POR 15, but it includes a variation in language when your hand slips and the wire wheel catches your leg.

Curious if anyone has tried running side scoops or quarter window scoops on a 71-73 Mach 1.

I like the rear deck as well. I’ve looked and couldn’t find anything for a 71-73.

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

Well, I made it to the transition from the trans tunnel to the engine compartment. And I was able to get the first of the POS 15 from the rear to the start of the rear axle tunnel. So, it’s been a long and tiring 7 days of work, but progress. These are just in process pics. I’m taking them as I...
