Sure looks like a cool project. Cougars are neat cousins to our Mustangs. But when the rust is uncovered it might be more than you bargained for!

Looks like it was heavily undercoated after the rust had already taken hold. If so - that would suck.

there is a guy selling one by me its a 73. advertised it comes with a 73 351 4v out of a pantera. not sure how to tell its a pantera motor tho . I may check it out

Probably not a Pantera motor but it would be a 351C Q code, basically same motor as sold in the Panteras...

My neighbors up the street had a '73 white XR7 I would've loved to have had as a kid coming into driving age. But - sold or traded before I could get some money together - mowing lawns and shoveling snow wasn't as lucrative then as it is now.
