1971 Mustang Mach 1
OK - so I get a call this late afternoon from Don65Stang with an interesting story about how his friend's girlfriend's mother has a bunch of really cool muscle cars for sale. Her husband passed away a while back, and it's time to sell the collection. Don needs some help figuring out what the cars are worth to help the people get an idea of what to expect they would sell for and if there's any kind of market interest in the vehicles.

He'll be talking with the people within the next few days and should be able to get some more pictures and details about the cars to post here. The pictures he was able to send me this evening are as follows:

1970 Mustang coupe

1973 Mach 1

1969-1970-somthing LTD convertible

Feel free to jump in and offer up anything that might help Don get a feel for what he can pass along. He'll be along when he can to add some more pics and information.

Thanks Eric for making the post. I've been traveling like crazy. The pics were sent to me via the girlfriend/grand daughter. I haven't seen the cars personally. I hope to see them tomorrow as I drive through that area as I head home.

I have very little interest in buying unless I am blown away by one of (or more) them. I have a good feel for the Mach 1 market but don't know the value range or desirability for the other cars. Any idea what the price range would be for the LTD vert? Same question for the Mustang coupe?

I'm more curious than anything to take a peek at the cars but at the same time would like to give the 85 year old lady an idea of the values since she doesn't have a clue.

Any input is appreciated.

Out of respect for the poor ole 85 year old lady I'll give 5000.00 for the Mach I

3500 for the Ltd

4000 for the 70 Coupe

*not all at the same time of course. I would love to buy the LTD for tha wifey.

As someone that used to (who am I kidding, still does) pine over the 1970 Mustang Coupe, I can only really tell you what they go for out here in California, and that's a lot. If it's an all original, uncut, un-rusted, clean example. It could bring an easy $7,000 depending on the options and what not. I'd personally be REALLY curious to learn more about that one

Pull them out and knock the crust off and see what they are missing anything or not.....Not knowing how they run or look in the daylight is tuff to value..i been way off on prices once i seen a car pulled out of the shade...but i dont see any of them being worth much under 3500 just how they look maybe even 5-6000 on the top end "if everything looks good in the sun"...The LTD convert is cool too :) And the mach 1 still has the blocking plates on the hood and seems to have a argent style stripe down the side...mite be really nice and original under all that dust. " mite" ;)

Dana, YOU MIGHT BE THE FATHER - oops wrong forum... :D

Dana, you might be the owner! Sounds like decent (maybe too high) bids for what we know so far.

To really establish a realistic value they cars would need to be cleaned up and checked for issues.

The paint on the two stangs looks like they might clean up good. Of course you know the 73 has had at least a color change... Look for signs of the original color. EDIT: OR might be a special order black paint car = VERY RARE as 1971 was only factory available in 1971 for the Mustangs!

I took the wrong interstate split and missed the town by 100 miles! It was like 4:30 when I left this morning so I wasn't thinking about which route to take and blindly followed my gps.

The cars have been sitting for 7 years so another couple of weeks should be ok. I'll call her and discuss.

She also has a ranchero and another late 60s mustang coupe in the basement.

I too noticed the engine on the stand. Couldn't tell what it is though. Anyone have an idea?

Looks like I'm not going to make it up there after all. If anyone is seriously interested I'll pass the lady's phone number on to you via PM. The cars are in West Point, Alabama.
