I am trying to find out if my 71 Mach 1 Q code came with white wall tires originally from the factory. Any help would be appreciated. - Mila

It very well could have. Your Marti report may tell you. If it lists 78 series tires they would either have been blackwall or whitewall. The 70 series would have been raised white letters.

My barber report said it have the white walls. I’m just surprised that that was accurate because I was reading where they had the black tires with the birching white letters only not the white wall. That’s the case I’m going to get the white walls. I have another dilemma my dad thinks that I should get the mag 500s and I do believe the 500s will look better in that case I don’t think the white walls would look very good on them I don’t know thank you thank you for answering those very kind of you

I thought your car was an M-code?

The default wheel for this generation Mustang seems to be the Magnum 500. Everyone runs them, to the point they're approaching passé. The trim rung and hubcap combo was standard equipment and IMO looks sharp on these cars. I ran them for many years and still do - sorta.

Sorry your right the M code, I’ve been studying in my books for weeks preparing meals and buying parts and just skipped my min. The marti report on my car said white walls. If thats accurate then I’ll get the white walls but if I get rhe mag 599 I’ll get the black with white letters which is what I read the 500s came with it off the assembly line

Thank you, mine is definitely the white side walls. I found a webpage that list which tire company still makes white sidewalls. I had been planning on buying some m500 wheels which would be a good time to buy them but they have so many options that its hard to tell which ones are reproductions. This help, thank you very much
