William Shatner is heading across the country this summer, but this trip is a bit more Easy Rider than Star Trek. Originally announced earlier this year, a date is finally set for the original Captain Kirk to be like a rocket man on the open road on his Rivet art deco trike.
Boasting an aluminum body inspired by a B-17, sharply pointed red lights spearing out the back as taillights, and a supercharged V8 with over 500 horsepower, the Rivet by American Wrench is a wild machine. Starting on June 23, the 84-year-old actor/singer/author will take the trike on an eight-day ride largely following historic Route 66 starting near Chicago and ending in Los Angeles.
