I'm going TDY to texas sometime soon and i wanna see if there are any members in the area. i'm going to be around the sheppard afb area so i'm willing to give another member a lending hand on their project on weekends or week days if close enough. it'll be something to do on weekends so yeah, it'll also be an oppurtunity to meet forum members one on one.

:D

Ah yes, Wichita Falls. Yeah - it's ONLY about a 5-hour drive through the second most flattest land I've ever seen. I made the trip last September to visit a high school friend whose father was in a rest home.

There should be a couple guys in the DFW area (which is a lot more fun than San Angelo, as well - ;) :D )

Yes, I spent five years (seems like) there during my 3-month Air Force Technical Training period back in 1965 :)! I honestly cannot recall ever having been granted "liberty" to go off the reservations.

Like Roy stated, I seem to recall a couple of Members who are in the general area. You might want to check the "pins", Olie.

Olie.... Wichita Falls is not what we consider "north Texas" here.... :D it's really kinda WEST. but it is north of some where.:D
That's what kills me about Texans: they don't consider El Paso to even be a part of Texas. It's as if the state stops at the eastern New Mexico border, and continues straight down to the Rio Grande.

San Angelo is only about 70 miles to the WNW of the geographical center of Texas (Brady), and it's considered West Texas out here. Wichita Falls is pretty much due north of geographical center, and it's considered 'West.'

Amarillo's [longitudinally] about 120 miles to the north of Wichita Falls, which is [longitudinally] around 60 miles north of DFW. Must be some of that 'fuzzy logic' that is the basis of President Bush's 'fuzzy math.' rofl

:D couldnt have said it better myself 4x4
Thanks for that. I was SO waiting for a 'bless your heart*' at the end of your comment. :D

* Texas way of saying, "you're an idiot."
