Anyone get to Cooly Rocks this weekend

Probably aimed at the Aussies here. Did anyone get to Cooly rocks or the winters this week end.If so any photos. I didn't get down , some mates running doorslammer again this year they said Ben Bray had a huge stack not good. Cooly should of been a hoot.

Cooly Rocks is a massive car event in QLD, cooly for Coolangatta. A huge Stack is a Big Crash and a Doorslammer is a type of drag car you blokes call them Pro Mod they where racing at the winter national or winters Aus largest Drag event.

Now if I said "I just nipped down to the battle cruiser for some ping pong piddle and while I was in the nuclear Sub a couple of yobs had a barney so I done the Harold and went home to the trouble and strife" then you could ask WTF, But our cousins in the UK would know what I said.

Nah mate didn't go down to Coolies this year, we were actually up your way for the week end. A few of us got together and stayed in Bundy, everywhere we went the GT club were there (it was like they were following us, luckily we knew a few of their members and we all had a good time) I had a few mates holidaying and entering cars for the event, so I'll see if they got any happy snaps. As for the Winters I haven't been to Willowbank for years, as I just had a gut full of it all after helping and crewing for ungrateful c##ts who thought you should drop everything and do every and anything they wanted and if you didn't, then you were biggest prick on earth. So ended up telling them all to jam it and shortly after got out of the whole game

That's right, some people just don't want everything from you, but expect more and that I should be grateful to them for doing all the work for them. No, never again, I've told many people over the years, thanks, but, no thanks. When we arrived up there on Saturday it was absolutely beautiful. Next morning though and it was a bit fresh, but not that bad though. Got back home last night and it was freezing down here. Had the chilly westerlies blowing straight off the range and down through the valley, apparently it was about 6 degrees overnight, all I know was it was bloody cold when I left home at 5am. Can't complain though, it's the first time we've had cold whether this year. Yeah we probably drove past your area as we did the usual touristy stuff up there, you know, Bundy rum (huge fan of the product and have a vast collection)distillery tour, Bagara beach hotel for lunch, drive around sight seeing, Brothers Leagues for tea, etc, etc. Definitely a great part of the world up there, but if I were to move anywhere, it would N.Q. Holidayed up at Mission Beach at my uncle and aunts park a couple of years ago and didn't want to come back, but unfortunately life gets in the way.

Mission is beautiful alright.I grew up in FNQ around Carbine Mareeba area, life was good as a free range child lol. It was awesome as a little kid perfect creeks, exceptional fishing and shooting, parents that took us all over the place to see and do wicked cool things. It was still a wild place on the edge of the frontier then.

I cannot stand the build up now that I am old and soft, but love going back up any chance I get. If anyone is reading this Go to Cairns in June or July and you wont want to leave either, weather is perfect fishing is still good. make sure you drive up to Port Douglas, you will have the reef on 1 side the road and Rainforest on the other Magic.
