My Car
1973 mach 1
They stopped racing them when i was born in 1974..My cus showed me alot of his vids on them...What unusual monsters they was....I use to think nothing could beat a F1 car around the track...Well...I was wrong..They was called Can Am cars...And if they would of kept making them...They would of been the fastest in the world....At the time they was faster than any f1 cars on the same track...and any car on the track...lol...They got up too 1200hp by the time they stopped making them...And cost was too high......Watch the one with the big crazy fin that moves with gyros lol...Too bad it didnt keep going...I so would be a fan!!

I don't remember. I was 3 when they stopped. I like that each car was different. That's one gripe I have about NASCAR. All the cars are the same. : /

I remember seeing those car bodies in slot cars and still see them available today.

I was 21 at the time. I had a slot car like one of them that I use to race at the local slot car track! That was the good ole days!

I remember them from back in the day. occasionally the would show them on "Wide World of Sports".

In High School one of my classmates built a body similar to a McLaren and put it on a corvair chassis. It was pretty cool but very heavy. The body was fiberglass and plywood.

A current class of short track oval cars are Supermodifieds. Very high tech using articulating wings, fuel injection, big blocks, seriously offset chassis, etc.
