My Car
1973 Mustang Convertible
Hi to all,

I'm reaching out here and trying to help a good friend of mine where i live. He owns a lovely 1970 Ford Mercury Cyclone, and is having a great deal of trouble trying to find a decent genuine front chin spoiler for his car. For that matter any other parts in general, he would be interested in as well.

My question is, would there be any Forum members who could help out here and have this part themselves, or if not, know of anyone or anybody who may have the front spoiler to sell on. (other parts as well)

Any help or feedback would be most appreciated for sure.

Thank you good people,

Greg.:)

I will make a couple calls. We have a couple local guys that deal in the big Fords, Torinos and Mercury. What else does he need? One of them owns two of the King Cobras, they only made 3.

Send me a PM so I will have something to go back to. I have arranged to get parts for Mustangs to Africa sure we can get them there also.

Greg, Dearborn classics lists the spoiler but, I'd confirm before purchasing. Here's the link. http://www.dearbornclassics.com/front-spoiler-black-abs.html

The 429 Cyclone is another car I USED to own and would like to have it back.

Hi Chuck,

Thank you very much for that connection. Much appreciated. I will look into that and see what results it will bring.

Cheers,

Greg, your friend will have a really nice "Hot Rod" when finished. He will have an uphill battle as far as sheet metal and trim. The Cyclone shared the 70-71 Torino/Fairlane formal hardtop, but all other sheet metal is different. The Cyclone has a unique front end that people either loved or hated! Ford was on a two year styling cycle in those days which doesn't help much on parts interchange and availability. At least the chassis and powertrain were shared with the Torino. There are some forums for all Cyclone's and some dedicated to the 70-71's. Most of them seem to have a pretty good cross section of parts for sale. Of course the prices reflect the rarity of some of the trim and body parts. There was a 140 MPH speedometer like my friend had in his 70 Cyclone GT for sale and the seller only wanted $2,000.00!!

The original spoiler is a two piece item and since it only came on the Cyclone Spoiler, is another rare expensive piece if found OE! As Chuck suggested, a call to Dearborn Classics to verify the fit would be a wise move.

Good luck and remember...we're here for you!! Lol
