Hmmm... for fifty bucks I might have considered it to replace my stock hood after it was twisted into a pretzel, if I had some sheet metal knowledge and lived 1000 miles closer. Fortunately, Don at OMS helped make the decision without even thinking about it.

The price is definitely right, IMHO, unless free is what you're looking for.

Weld it to a couple of sticks, give it a silly name, a background story, and sell it as a modern art sculpture for $10,000.

There's an art sculpture in a similar vein at the local modern art museum - it's made out of old chrome bumpers. I sometimes look at it, but not for the "artistic" aspect: I'm trying to ID a car to each bumper

Way too much work on that one for me even for the money. I wonder what a bodyshop would charge to have it shipped to them, strip, repair,prime then paint match and warranty their work?

I would get it. But not to use on a finished car. It could be quickly cleaned and hammered out. Spray it with cheap Rustoleum primer and use this as a place holder on a project car. I am finding that when I work on the car, I have no where to lay my tools as I am afraid to ding or damage something. Now this will not work until the cowl is repaired and painted, but after that, this would be a nice long work bench while I work on the floor, suspension, roof, or other areas on the car. When you are ready for the real hood, pop this off and use it for the next car. Or put it on CL for $50. Since you primered it, more likely to move onto the next guy.

Just an idea for someone. Too far away for me.

The hoods with scoops make terrible sleds... just saying.

I'd cut it in half and make it a lid for a outside grill.
