Greetings,

Convert you fixed Mach 1 or Fastback 1/4 windows to roll ups.

I have a complete set of 1/4 window manual windows still mounted in my parts car. These 1/4 windows work perfectly. I will carefully remove, clean, and identify every nut, bolt, bracket, and clip and then package them up and ship them to you. I will also hold the car until you are sure that we did not miss anything.

**** This set has sold for $200.00 but I have one last set up for sale for the same price. ***

The only parts that you would need to supply are your Mach one glass and 2 new handles - (I will ship the old faded handles if you want)

PM me with what you think these are worth. I am not looking to make a killing on these and will sell them at a resonable price.

Thanks!

Greetings,

I have the rear seat out and the side panels off. Everything is there and looks good. I also matched my convertible with the coupe pictures shown in the instructions to make certain that the glass mounting bracket is the same.

We do not want to mess with e-bay so lets try it here.

Post up your offers - I will have them out and ready to ship by the end of the week.

Also - if you need convertible parts or anything else let me know. Once the window regulators are gone and sucessfully installed by the buyer the car will go bye bye.

Thanks!

Paul

We have only had Grande's and Convertibles. The 1/4 windows always rolled down.

Apparently the Machs have fixed rear windows unless you opted for power windows. Strange.

They look much more wicked with all the glass rolled down.

That is true, and not just Machs but the sportsroof models as well.

Hey Paul, my 73 Mach 1 has fixed windows and I heard these will work in my car. How much do you want, please leet me know. Thanks, Mark.
Mark, check the wiki section here. One of the members (Flatback72) posted up a tutorial on how to convert to the roll-downs.

Mark,

I hope to make enough to purchase a new or decent 650 to 750 Holley for my 351C. Trades are also welcome. If you can get me a clean and ready to run carb I will trade. If not they sell for around 350 to 400 new. A member here paid just under $600 to have a set of regulators sent to Australia. Less rare here so less money here.

I have one offer for $200.00 but I need to get more if possible.

Thanks

-Paul

Update:

Sold for $200.00 with free shipping. Thanks!

Update Update:

When you do this conversion there is one special bolt that holds the top of the window track to the inside of the quarter panel. It is a threaded stud with a built in spacer that goes between the track and the sheet metal and has an small hex key hole in one end. This hex is used to spin the stud to move the track in or out to adjust the angle of the window to match the opening to the car.

I tore up one bolt trying to get it out and had to scrambe to find a replacement. Without this you are going to have to mess around with a longer bolt and small washers to get it all lined up.

We took all the removed parts and installed them in a trashed sports roof shell just to make sure that I had pulled all the needed parts and this was"do-able" when we discovered this issue.

The original post in this thread has a link to a write up on this upgrade but it does not mention this adjusting bolt.

With the correct bolt 45 min per side - Without the correct bolt 2 hours and a bunch of cussing.

Thanks!

WOW I must have forgot that about my 73 Mach 1.

This adjustment is on all body styles. Should be two, front and back of plate.

Greetings,

On the 4 cars I have looked at the one closest to the door opening had the funky hex bolt but the one closest to the wheel well had a regular bolt with a standard threaded slip clip to hold it in the sheet metal.

I have 1 71 convert and 2 73 converts plus looked at a 71 Cougar convert as well - all the same.

The 73 Mach shell had all of the threaded bolt holes for the roll ups including the odd little barrel clip for the special bolt we are discussing. It only had this clip in the front top hole for the track. This little barrel clip can not be removed and looks like it is installed in the sheet metal before the shell is welded together.

I have converted rollups to power a few times in other cars (PITA) and only have seen one per side.

Next time If I have extras I might try to use 2 of them per side to make the adjustment easier but I bet this is probably the harded part to find out of the whole set up.
