I'm a cherry boy. This is a pony show by the main Ford dealer in town. The flyers say awards so I assume trophies and classes. How does this all work? Just show up and register, they give the car a once over and assign a class? Park where they tell ya an open the hood? I'm pretty excited but don't want to do anything... well ya know, to look like a newb. LOL
Usually you show up and pay an entry fee, $10 or so. Sometimes they have a pre-registration for a lower price.
Depending on the show set-up and number of cars expected, there can be classes with awards, usually 1st,2nd,3rd in each class.
Sometimes there are no classes and the awards are top 20 or top 50 cars depending on number of cars.
Judging can be done by certified judges as in MCA shows or people that are familiar with cars.
Sometimes its a top-20 voted on by the participants or crowd favorites.
Not everyone gets an award.
Usually you have the car cleaned up so it looks presentable and with the hood open if you want to show off the engine.
I have the original window sticker for mine so I usually tape it to the side window.
Seems that spectators like to read over the options and price.
You usually walk around and look at other cars or answer questions related to yours.
Otherwise bring a chair and enjoy the day, food and music.
Good luck, have fun and let us know what happens!
