Started my new job on monday(satellite tech) and yesterday went out to a guy's house that was stock full of projects. We did the install, and just as we were finishing up the guy asks out of nowhere if we know where any junkyards are. My trainer and I tell him of the three in the area and I mention the speed shop and my engine for sale there. He got all excited and took me out to his shop where he had 2 clevelands all wrapped, and decked out I might add, as well as 429 thunderjet that needs a rebuild. Wants $200 for the 429. I get a couple paychecks I'm probably going to take him up on it.

VegasFastback,

Dude, Nice deal there. I will have to say, I know where there is a complete 429-4V with a C6 Transmission from a 1970 Mercury Cyclone. From the factory , 365 HP. The plan is to rebuild it and stuff it into a 1971 Mustang hardtop.

Good Price, for a complete motor, the 71-73 mustangs where designed with the 385 series in mind [429/460]....
When I first got my mustang that was the plan, putting in a 429. The previous owner had the same plan he said he had a 429 for it and I didn't have the money to take him up on it. I definitely plan on building this one but I'm leaning towards replacing my 302 with a cleveland because of the weight. We'll see, I might fall in love witht the thing.
