WELCOME aboard, Roger!

Your '72 Mustang should make a very addition to your other three Fords. I also like the "007" plate...speaks volumes.

With all your apparent automotive interests, I hope you will find the time to visit some of our other Forums. As I like to say, we have a Membership that is interested in restored to modified and everything in between on this Site.

I look forward to interacting with you on some of the other Forums. Again, Welcome to the Site.

Thanks for the welcome everyone

Nice comment on the plate but a temp. ...... 007 would have been cool!!

We use "trade plates" here to allow the car to be moved around for mods/tests/etc before its passed by DMV for legal road use, that plate can be moved from vehicle to vehicle as its registered to an individual/establishment & carries insurance accordingly.

I have all my mods/tests done without a hitch & docs submitted, now waiting for registraion completion, about 10 days, then I get the permanent registration no. & plates.

Looking forward to adding it to the other 3 of Ford's finest too

:)

Welcome to the forum. Very nice car. +1 for the 007 plate. If you don't catch the hidden meaning google search "Diamonds are Forever". I like the red Mach 1s also.

Hi John,

Thanks for the welcome & everyone else too.

A few points to address but only as expected & similar to yours, had to change the rear indicators to amber, fitted amber lamps in the reverse light & swapped wiring, no reverse lights now, front lighting required white side light so swapped headlight units for UK Land Rover type which added the reqd. extra side light. Seat belts, ok with originals due to age.

RHD conversion a little frowned on here & not required, actually devalues the car!! ........... my other cars are LHD so not a problem either.

Your convertible looks nice.

Welcome to 7173Mustangs! Glad to have you aboard!

Welcome to the site from Virginia. Great looking Mach 1. Just curious, did you buy from a dealer or private party and did they represent the car correctly or were you surprised with any undisclosed issues?

Hi & thanks,

I did buy privately, found advertised of all places, U.S. ebay!!!

Searched for a long time in the usual classic/muscle car sites but never felt comfortable with the answers to my questions if they bothered to answer at all, I also got the hard sell from dealers who seemed more interested in the shipping deal than selling the car.

I exchanged a few mails with the seller in Maryland who agreed to an independant vehicle inspection, I used these guys .......

http://www.automobileinspections.com/

Blue report, comprehensive checklist inspection with 95 photographs, prompt and straight talking service, saved me an air ticket etc, bought the car on the results.

No hard sell or pressure from the owner who voluntarily rectified a few mechanical points raised on the report, (full service, axle seals and relined brakes), the car was better than expected on arrival & no undisclosed issues.

:D
