- 1972 Mustang Mach 1 Fastback
Hey guys, im new the the forums and quite honestly new to the 71-73 era mustangs(better late than never right)? Im currently 17 and a proud owner of two mustangs!
A quick little history of both.
2002
My 02 Mustang is my second car. The first was a Saturn SL2, not the best car but i loved it. Sadly shes gone due to a car wreck but, im much happier with the stang Its only a 3.8L V6 however, with my age i honestly dont need a V8(gas/insurance/tickets haha) So it works for me!
1972
I inherited it about a year ago from my dad. Growing up I didnt have much interest in it but these cars truly begin to grow on you. Its a 351C 2B. A year into the restoration I've began to see that I might have bit off more than I can chew but, Im in no rush and plan on finishing it eventually! Currently Im fortunate to have someone help me out along the way as i dont know much about cars. He was my dads lifelong friend who used to ride around in the car with him when they were teenagers. My dad sold him his 69' fastback 4/5 years ago because it was doing the same thing as this car, rusting away.
Into the restoration: Had to replace the entire fuel system including the tank/lines/pump/carb becasue it sat for some years. A few other tweaks here and there and we got it running with out too many problems but now were on to the floor pans, and man were they a project!
Have new upholstery/headliner waiting to go in but their all dependant on the pans to go in! Then i'll be able to driver er' around Wish me luck!
