Damn lighting hit close to my house and ruined my ethernet card in my computer...lol...Even know i had it runing threw a protector...didnt matter..was a big hit..But after alot of brain storming..I figured a cheap way of hooking it threw usb 2.0 with a adaptor i got online...bypassed it all....atleast its up and runing good..woot!!

Welcome back, we took a hit a few months ago, blew out a circuit breaker and fried the cable modem.

Just remember the "3" "foot" method. When a lightning storm is approaching.Take your foot and kick the plugs on your valuable equipment 3 foot from the receptalce. Works every time!

I got them 3 foot from me..lol...I fell asleep and woke up with explosion and my house shaking ..and all hell breaking loose!! I reached over from my bed and turned everything off...As the computer shut off...I heard a tiny snap...I was hoping it was just static threw the lines...Nope..It was the sound of my eithernet taking a dump...lol...my freind told me he woke up...He lives 3 blocks from me...Cause it was rocking his house too...He looked out the window just in time he said too see the biggest lighting bolt he ever seen explode over my house in the air..I pretty sure it hit a poll close by and took alot of stuff out..Incuding my net..Atleast nothing else.

Nothing else thank god....Maybe my attics vintage Thomas Edison electricity set up saved me...Im well grounded...lol..my attic still had a unremoved bare copper wire Edison style set up....Bare wires that goes too glass insulators...Looks almost like my own telephone poll up there...lol......Its cool peice of history..I dont wanna tear it out...lol...Btw..Its not hooked up anymore "atleast i dont think"
