Howdy everyone,

Love this Site!

Last December I traded a Harley for a 73 Grande.

I missed the 69 Mustang I had in HS and had to give up for the smog passing issue in the late 80s.

The 65-70 stangs are way over priced even for a driver out here so I got a good deal on the 73. G Bless smog exemption here now for 75 and older.

The car I got was a father/son project that was never finished. Many parts were missing and after spending and digging I almost have a complete car.

The body is fairly strait but all kinds of small dings everywhere ugg paint someday soon.

Overall what a thrill to drive the girl just wants to fry the tires all the time. Have to drive it easy the tires are $200 ea and we're on a budget!

I'm looking to get some 15in Torque Thrust Ds and some Riadial T/As soon it rides too rough with the 17s.

I'll try to contribute more when I can as I was mechanic back in the day but gave it up for the construction business.

Specs:

73 Grande

VIN 3F04H181534

351 2v

Intake, cam, headers, 4v carb

FMX B&M Mega Shifte

06 Saleen 17in 5 spoke wheels 10in rear 8in front

::welcome::Love the designer wheels. Heard, 17inchers a rough ride? If so, ....notice in CA, must have access to all update, ie wheels.....so, I am looking for 'wheel covers' since the garages seem to trash my 15 x 7 n 8's. They say the work will be done in now time, then I call 2 weeks later and, blah blah blah blah, not started, blah blah reason then when it's finally done, notice my magnum wheels are all scratched up or stained. Do you know a source that has wheel covers, maybe attaches by magnets, will protect the wheels from those pot head mechanics, not lol. Your grande, my first choice back in a day when I was in highschool , in 72 but Hurrican Agnes on how it trashed a trac from Hornell, NY through down rt 17 and down rt 81 through Wilkes Barre, PA where so much flooding that even caskets were uprooted outta cemetaries (Forty Fort, PA) and landed in the trees above. Welcome from Phoenix! Yeah, one thing I do wish we copied CA on is their old car emissions laws. We haven't figure out in Phoenix yet that the number of 40 plus year old cars is insignificant.

Welcome from West Virginia!

Looks like a great project. I have to agree on the 17's making the ride a bit on the stiff side. I am rethinking my tire and wheel choice also because the old car suspensions are just not designed to accommodate a very flat tire. You need the extra rubber to soften the ride.
