Hey guys i know this is a long shot but I was wanting to know if you could keep an eye out for an older Husqvarna 250/430/510cc. I was wanting to buy another for a long time now but they are very hard to find and all the ones on ebay are crazy priced. I was wanting a 1987 or 1988. I had a really nice one growing up and had it for years. i would love to get another one to restore or just ride. Or little of both. I bought mine when I was 14 with money I saved up working for my brother. I ended up selling it when i was in college because it needed rebuilt and i didnt have the money to fix it and i needed money as any college kid did. I would tear it down to the bare frame every winter and paint everything and fix anything that needed it. I remember being like 15 and my mom coming home to find me degreasing the mottor and swingarm in the bath tub. LOL :D She was not happy!!! Any ways if anyone see one or knows somebody that knows somebody please le me know. Heres a pic of one just like I had. if I can dig up a pic of my old one I will post it up. Thanks for any help guys!!!

I got a 1986 husky 400 xc...Its looks almost the same...Same shock swing arm and such...She is water cooled...And was a beast..i havent started it for a long time..Probly locked up by now..ill have to check..The seal on the bottom started leaking..So i stopped riding it till i could fix it..I just never had the time...I dont got any good pics of it..and too bad im so far away...lol..Unless you just cant find one..But i would part with it...With legit legal title for 600...but it may need a ring and piston by now....Cheap thou for 2 stroke...i put a new clutch in it a year before the bottom seal started too leak and didnt put too many miles on it........I posted what you can see of it..its on my back porch surrounded by projects..lol..One blurry pics of me out riding it..long time ago with my first digital camera..lol

Thats cool as hell. I would definately jump all over that if you were closer. I really want an 87 or 88. That was the last year made in sweden and collectors have all the nice ones waiting for them to be worth big money. The 88 is really just left over 87's i would just like to have one to ride again :D Thanks for posting. this site rocks even if the topic isnt mustang Thanks Guys!!!

Weird..I cant even find a proper pic online of a 86 400 xc...Wow they sure dissapearing huh?...I found this pick of the same year..But mine is not enduro like this...Mine is more like the pic you posted..Gots husqvarna name casted into the forks..And says cross country on the swing arm...I seem to find more pics of the one im posting below..Mine is alot more agressive..And even seems to have a nice factory aluminum front disk protector...lol....I really like the old bike..I mite just tear it down...hehe.

But when i seen your pic..I was like..Wow i got one close..if you wouldnt of been closer..Im sure you would of carried it off...lol...ill borrow my buds cam and post some pics anyways for us old dirt riders...one thing i liked...Sence im a tall guy...That bike had the most travel of any bike i ever owned...And so tall i would have to hold it for a few short freinds like kids...and give them a push...lol

The air cleaner assembly from my '78 CR250 sat on the shelf above your head as you walked up the ramp into the service department at Lojaks for years. It had an X-acto hand cut white Moto-X-Fox decal on it. The bike got parted out after it lunched the tranny, cracked both center cases and locked up. I did a not-so-cool 40 yard slide on grass before getting spit off.

I tried to contact the guy in So-Cal that bought all of their inventory to get it back, but he just flat blew me off. That decal was the first of thousands that I ended up making in my racecar lettering business back in the day.

Yeah, I wish I had that whole bike back, too.

Classic simplistic beauty.

But what a bitch to start...

Yeah i love these old husky's. Mine was a cross country. it had a headlight on the front but no tailight. This thing would eat other bikes of the same size around here all day long. My buddy had a 92 kx 250 all worked over and my 87 husky would walk all over it. he got so mad he sold his kx and went out and bought a cr 500. That i couldnt keep up with LOL!!! As far as starting them you definately had to know how or it would just about break your leg!!! I had a few buddies that hurt their legs on my husky. They couldnt kick with their left foot. I got so used to a left sided kicker that when i rode japanese bikes i would stand off to the side and kick with my left foot. :D I will dig up some of the pics this weekend and show you the old girl. Man i miss that bike:( I got some parts off a guy that was buddies with lojacks husky shop. Did you know Ken Speer?? he had a small husky dealer in Slippery rock Pa. Had a brand new 87 250 husky in his shop that never been started. I would like to find that thing.

Heres a couple pics. These are from about 17 or 18 years ago. I think I was 15 when I took these pics. Had it tore down to the bare frame and painted everything. The pics of it together are not when it was done. I put new side stickers on it and a set of hand guards over the bark busters. But anyhow heres a couple pics of my bike. I hope to be able to get another one someday.
