Look it's a 4 speed! Uh, no it ain't.

When I purchased my Mach 1 it came with a rather clever set up for the appearance of a 4 speed equipped model.
Actually the car came from the factory with a C6 which it still has. But somebody installed a Hurst V-Matic 2 shifter and made, or had made,
a Naugahyde boot to cover it. The shifter can be used like a normal factory one or a ratchet style model.
So when one peers in the windows it looks every bit like a 4-speed shifter. I've been debating between putting a stock set up back in or actually putting in
a top-loader 4 speed. For now I think I'll leave things as they are.

Nice idea. The B&M Megashifter is a awesome shifter. I had one in my 83 Trans Am. It really looks great.
