From the article:

Steeda Interceptor Mustangs are made in the USA especially for police/undercover duty and can be custom built to any specification. They are compatible with most commercially available police equipment and specialized ballistic protection options and are built with Steeda performance parts manufactured under rigorous ISO 9001:2008 Certified Quality Standards. So, whether you're reeling in a runner on the highway or closing fast on an urban emergency, they’ve got a Steeda Interceptor Mustang that can outperform anything else on the road today.

Wow that is so awesome stuff to read the performance is outstanding 😎[THUMBS UP SIGN] Well glad that Wee don't have them in our police force[WINKING FACE] But if they were here they would look so good [sMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]😎[THUMBS UP SIGN] Regards Lars

So I'm a proud owner of one Mach 1 73! Regards Lars DK73 😎

I suspect they'll be rarely seen on the streets due to the costs and lack of room in the back seats, but there are some larger Law Enforcement agencies that have funds for toys like that. I can see where they would make great chase cars for VIP protection, where costs aren't an issue. They mention them as police undercover cars but those things would stick out like a sore thumb and draw all kinds of attention, they wouldn't be undercover for long. Now as unmarked patrol cars they would be assume.

Yes Lars the cops down south in New South Wales get all the good cars, as well as this they have a, Lamborghini, Audi R10, AMG Mercs, M series BMWs and the usual hotted up Ford turbo 6's and Supercharged V8's, Holden/HSV V8's and Subaru WRX Sti's. They've always had the cream of the cop cars down there, including cars that caused such controversy here in Australia back in 1972, that the government at the time banned the manufacturers from building these cars, thus causing our home grown high performance cars to die out for many years, but it was alright for their police force to have these "bullets on wheels" as portrayed by the media, go figure.

Wow that is so awesome stuff 😎 well I guess the government always will have the best Cars there is! Just to clarify that they are the authorities. But regarding my statement of Police cars here in Denmark. They have Mostly Ford Mondeo's 2.5 L 4 cylinder + some V6 of the 2.5 L or the Holden as you Call them down there. VW some of these aswell. But have heard that the are to expensive to keep service on them. So they are not keeping them. Regards Lars

They use to have Mustang HP cars here in N.C.. When Ford got rid of the coupe body they went away. I ask my a relative that is a North Carolina HP office why. There is a N.C. requirement that a steel gun lock box be in the trunk that holds shotgun and AR-15 and ammo. The fastback models will not fit the box so cannot be considered for use no matter how fast there are. Florida and California use them a lot back in the 80's. You could spot one after service when you opened the hood they had the blue silicone radiator hoses and extra coolers. There is also a special buck tag I think near the drivers side headlight on rad. support. They had all the good pieces and were sought after when out of service. Little things like welding the extra reinforcement in the rocker used for sun roof cars made the handle better.

They cost the HP around $10,000 back then the price is a joke now I do not see why people do not stop buying the overpriced cars.

Those are some really awesome cop cars. I don't know any of our departments actually "buying" cars like Lamborghini's or Audi R10's but I've known departments that have seized cars like that on drug cases and put them into use by the departments.

They love the drug cars. Hendersonville had a 7 series BMW for a while, lol. I got contacted by an attorney here. Her client had one of the Highway Patrol Mustangs and someone crashed into it totaling it. The insurance company did not want to give him anything for it until I provided the proof it was a pretty rare edition of a mustang and they paid him what he wanted.
