My Car
71 fastback 351cleveland 4 speed
0926101733b.jpgHi everyone I just joined on the 10th. Sorry I have not had a chance to introduce myself yet I am a ups driver and as you can guess I am really busy this time of year. I just got my 71 mustang in September. I had a 65 coupe right before this one that me and my 5 yr old son would cruise around on the weekends with. I really miss that car and hope I made the right decision getting this body style because I actually traded for it and have really been on the fence with my decision me and my family really loved the 65 but I have personally always loved muscle cars in the late 60's early 70's and that is what attracted me to this car. I am disappointed in the fact that there are not as much parts available for this car like my other. My 71 has a 351 Cleveland bored 30 over with Keith black flat top pistons a comp cam 4 valve heads with stainless st valves hooker headers stock intake edlebrock 600 carb procomp electronics ignition and distributor. It has the toploader 4 speed with a racing clutch and scatter shield. It has a 9inch posi I don't know the gear ratio yet. It came from factory with power steering and power front disc brakes. I would post pics but the site says they exceed the size so any advice on how to upload them would be appreciated looking forward to sharing progress with everyone you seem like cool crowd everyone I hope you have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.0926101733a.jpg

First, thing, order yourself a Marti Report. With that, you should know exactly what it was when it came off the line. For parts, check Mustangs Unlimited, MAC's and CJ Pony Parts. Between those 3, I've found about everything that I needed.

And welcome to the site. Look forward to seeing your progress.

::welcome:: from East Tn on parts I have had great success with Don at Ohio Mustang New and Used stuff

Welcome to the forums! We're glad to have you aboard! You made a good choice...you decided to get what you like, not what everyone else likes! Well done! As far as parts, you'll be surprised what is available for these cars! :D

::welcome::

Weocome from Northern CA. Looks like you have a nice starting point. You mad the right choice. Everyone here knows it ;-)

WELCOME aboard!

As a couple folks have said and/or inferred, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the quantity and quality of parts that are available for the 1971 - 1973 Mustangs. It seems that even more are becoming available almost weekly:).

I look forward to interacting with you on the different Forums as you continue the "journey" with your 1971 Mustang.

Again, Welcome!

BT

Welcome to the site from Virginia! I bet you get to see a lot of cars for sale while driving around in your UPS truck.

::welcome:: from Mustang, Oklahoma. I think you made a good call. The car seems well equipped and the mods sound reasonable. As Tn fastback said get plugged in with Don at Ohio Mustang. He'll have or can get what you may need and he has built dozens of these cars, he is not just a parts slinger. Chuck
