Personalized Plates Lets see how may different one are out there.

Had a few plates over the year...Having owned a bunch of Mustangs and then registering them after moving from New Jersey to.Delaware. I sold a few of cars, but I have kept the plates.

I also have a set of very nice late Sixties New York Car Dealer Plates. I was planning to use them on my 69 428 Cobrajet since it was sold new in New York, but I sold the car and kept the plates.

Delaware has a special designation for highly Modified classic and antique cars. If the car is significantly modified from what came from the factory, then the Delaware DMV designates the car as a Street Rod and your car gets a license plate beginning with "SR" and a number. My 70 Mach is "SR695".

Another interesting fact about Delaware License Plates is you can buy and sell plate numbers privately and register and use them on your car. I read about Delaware residents paying (many) thousands of dollars for what are called low-number porcelain plates. I have never heard of this phenomenon in any other states. Anyone know of another state where you can do this?

I had this plate for years in my late teens and twenties and it was on many different CJ5's and CJ7's. One of my best friends wanted the plate, so we registered his Jeep in both our names with that plate and then removed my name from the registration, so he could have the plate. Unfortunately, this pic was taken when I bought this CJ7, I don't have any pics of this Jeep a few months later with the lift kit and 35" Dick Cepek mudders on it.



I also got this plate when I was 19 and still have it today. Here is a pic of the plate on a car I had when I was 23, and one of my current cars. I have to admit the IROC and the EKG stripe in pink is a bit embarrassing today, but it was the **** in 1989. It's kind of like an automotive mullet, LOL.

This was my tag when I was a teenager. The letters are my initials. My older sister got it for me when I started driving. Check out that last inspection sticker. My car then was a yellow 1971 Mustang Sportsroof with 302 3 speed.

I got this plate back around 1975 when Connecticut first went to 6 letters on Vanity Plates. I was 18, and it was on my ’73 Sportsroof in the other pic. It’s going off the Blazer and onto the 72 vert once it’s back on the road. It was meant to mean Mark’s Mach 1, even though it was just a fastback,(as we called them back in the day) . Some folks thought it meant Mark’s Won , LOL

her its cute she just opens the hood "302 w/Tripower.

I Just found this thread so I thought I'd add mine to the list! All great plates but hard to find something unique with the DMV!
I thought this group would appreciate the nod to the 'Big' Mustangs of 71-73! I find it funny how originally the public thought they were too big at the time.

Not personalized, but Year of Manufacture. These tags came off a 71 Grande' that I parted out around 1994. Came from the original owner, still have the 1971 CT green title. Today, I would fix and drive that car, as it really wasn't all that bad...

It's just a reproduction but it looks like a genuine 1971 Illinois plate. I had this made and I run it on the front of my '71 Mach, it's just a happy coincidence that Illinois had white plates with black lettering in 1971, haha.
