I thouht I would share the current progress on the 73 Mach1 I bought about a year ago. I restored a 71 about 15 years ago, when I was a teenager and traded it off shortly after. I have been looking for an affordable 71-73 project. So, the week after Christmas 2010 I found a 73 Q-Code Mach 1 which I bought with a 460 and no tranny. Actually I traded an old 96 F250 I had for it. It need a lot of work and was missing everything under the hood, so I have a lot of work to do.

When I bought it:

I started out with cleaning up the engine compartment, as I wanted to get it driving first.

I will post more of the progress, when I get some more time. I need to jump in the shower to head to the Darryl Starbird show. :)

Nice work so far! Keep us posted!!

I took some pics today of the engine compartment. I found an Edelbrock 750 that I rebuilt, replaced the fender apron and battery tray with one from a parts car, bought a radiator, hoses, etc. Also finished most of the underhood wiring and put in new guage sending units.

I should only need to hook up tranny cooler lines and finish the p/s pump bracket, so I have a belt on the water pump to fire it up.

I also shot the outside with a coat of black primer to cover up bits of exposed metal and make it not such an eyesore, as well as put some 05 GT wheels and tires on.
