I bought a Summit branded rear disc brake conversion for the Ford 9 inch. I bought one with the integral parking brake. I was not thrilled with the look and fitment of the parking brake cables and would have need to make my own cable to make it work. I was looking for some alternate brake cables that I could maybe make work. I found the two cables shown in the pic. These cables are for Ford cars and have the same design for the drum brakes. I cut about a third of the spring out with a Dremel. Cut the spring and then bend the short section to start removing it. Then unscrew that spring portion. These now are the correct length for the GM style rear disc brakes. Using the cables I found they did not quite reach....what to do? I remembered Cougars are slightly longer but use the same cables ......sure enough they have a slightly longer cable connector. I got one of those and it works well. I will try to get more pics if anyone is interested. Link for sourcing the connector.. https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/c7wy-2a808-a.html
