Good evening. After all the paint has cured, I've started to wrap parts for storage so I can move onto other parts and efforts. So, reassembling the headlights has certainly proved to be a huge Charles Foxtrot.
All the effort to keep things from getting scratched or chipped, even after towels, gorilla tape, painting tape and more gorilla tape on the tools, wrapping the vice anvil, etc., has only led to arrggghhhh!!!!! The very first screw adjuster for the buckets bent all to shut the front door land, then broke apart into 3 pcs. While I was able to reassemble the small retainer and nylon threads as well as straighten out the metal tabs...
How exactly did those who replaced the parts get those tabs to secure the inside of the frame?!
One thing is for certain, got lots of touch-up to do now!
