Hey everyone

I've made a couple posts regarding wheels, but still haven't settled on anything. Ultimately I want to end up with a set of 17" Torq-Thrust M's, but until I can get the coin for those, I'm looking at other options.

I recently sold my 1997 Cobra, and have a set of wheels left from that car. They are 17" wheels with pretty decent tires on them. Yesterday I set these up next to the mustang to get an idea of how they'd look, and I was pleasantly surprised. I know I'd have to buy a set of adapters to get them to fit properly, but $100 is easier to justify right now than $1200.

What do you guys think?

Not bad, the bigger question is do you like them. You have to see them everyday.
I certainly like them better than the dog dish hubcaps that are on there now, but they are not my favorite. I"m thinking they can tide me over until I can score a set of the TT M's.

Then I say go for it. Are your dog dishes 14 or 15's?

They are 14's

Just ordered a set of 1" wheel adapters. When they get here next week, I'll get the wheels on and take some legit photos for you guys to see.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have 2001 GT wheels on mine, 1/2" spacers on the rear and 1 1/2" on the front. I could have gone 1.25" on the front though.
Hmm... I think i'll have to call the supplier tomorrow morning and get my order changed. After reading your comments, I did a little more research, and it looks like that's exactly what some of the pre-made kits (like NPD) are offereing. Hopefully I can change the order before they ship it :/

I noticed you said 1/2" spacers instead of adapters. Did you have to replace the bolts on the hub with longer ones? Or, do you feel like you have another 1/2" of clearance in the back?

Actually I haven't done it yet, but on the rear wheels you have to pull the bolts and put longer ones in. You're right, the rear ones are spacers and not adapters. The front ones are adapters, and I do have those installed (using the original bolts). Just haven't got around to doing the rear ones yet.

So I was doing some more research last night, and it looks like stock / direct bolt-on replacement wheels have a backspacing around 4". The Cobra wheels I have are 8" wide with a +24mm offset (about an inch). So the 1" adapters should get me back down to that 4" of backspace.

For now i'm going to leave my order as is, and I'll report back once everything is installed.
