Hey All,

So my sister works for a guy here in CA that is a classic car wheeler dealer and when she picks up something interesting for him she brings it by for me to test drive. Lately it's been Mopar cars Roadrunners and GTXs.

Last month she said I had to check out this 70 Mach 1 with the 427 6 spd!

I know this site is 71-3 but I can personally vouch for the 427 Ford Racing Crate Engine WHAT A BEAST!! With the Tremec 6 sp trans OMG what a thrill my left leg was sore for two days from the pressure plate. But a great car.

BTW it sold for 50K

Next up a couple Ferrari's... boring

It IS a beautiful car. Looks awesome and appears to have a lot of nice stuff going on. But WTF is a Boss 427?

Sounds like the '70 Boss 347 that some low-information Airman just bought a few months ago from one of our shadier used car stealerships. They originally had it listed for $48K... and honestly, it was about $30K too much. It was a nice 20-footer restomod, and had lots of nice stuff and good work done to it... right up to the point of getting the body work and paint done. Sure, it's shiny... but the cancer bubbling up through the new paint around the rear fender openings, rockers, and lower quarters just ruins the whole thing. Under the hood was a stroked 302... that explains that.

The kid bought it for "just" $32K - wish he would've talked to me first - he brought it to the Auto Hobby Shop on a day I had a Brass Band gig... so I missed seeing it up-close. But Jim walked around it and gave a pretty accurate report. Then 'something' happened to it (I've a few different stories) as it's now at a body shop... and been there awhile. I'm guessing the kid can't afford the bill to get the driver side door and quarter repaired. Too bad as well - it really is a nice-lookin' car... from 20 feet off the passenger side.

Could be - it did say "Stroker 427," but I would think if it was one of those Ford Racing crate engines, they would've stuck with the Boss 427 valve covers... for some kind of 'authenticity,' or something. Wish the pictures were bigger.
Never underestimate the ambiguity of a restomod.

Sweet car! I'll bet it was a blast to drive. ::thumb::

And, "Duhhhh..." You DID say it was a Ford Racing 427 stroker in the original thread. I must've blazed through that too quickly. ;) :D

Radical engine idling at about 1000 rpm and can hear it loping real hard and when driving it in 3rd gear doing 40 mph you can feel and hear the cam.

What was most impressive to me was that the engine was quick revving like blipping a supercharged car and the underside of the car was looked factory fresh!
