Hey Folks,

Just wanted to make mention that the International G20 Summit is being hosted by Brisbane city, Queensland, Australia this time.(Friday, 14th November). I live here of course, and the security has been beefed up big time for the event. The immediate areas around where the event will be staged, will be locked down on the day, and the Premier of the State has decided to give everyone in Queensland the day off with full pay.

What a big deal over a bunch of leaders turning up for an eats and drinks fest!

Greg.:)

Been in Brisbane all week. Funny watching all the security doing escape and evasion drills in cars in the city, mapping routes then driving them a few times. got to ask your self how many Aussies give a rats arse about a few global fat cats

Are you guys serious, this is the greatest thing to happen to Brisbane in ages, why if you live in the Brisbane area you get a public holiday, let alone the day in lost productivity because businesses have to close for the day to accommodate these self centred a--eholes. It gets to cost the tax payers around a $1 billion to host this shindig for the privilege to have all these fantastic leaders and their entourage of hanger ons to work out how they can screw over the working people some more so they can give themselves even more again. They'll come out of it telling us about all the worlds problems, that they helped cause, then tell us how we've all got to pay to fix up, for their incompetence. I do not know anyone that gives two f--ks about these over paid a--eholes being here, except for what this is costing us to give these guys a free holiday. I am so glad I don't live in Brisbane (not that I'd want to these days) as the people who live in the immediate area of that crapfest are basically prisoners in their own places. So glad I live out in the country just far enough away from that load of BS.

Hey c'mon, I got to see a lot of new AMG63s and 7 series BMWs and I know mine, yours and Greg's tax helped pay for these jiggers along with the rest of the nation . Good taste you have gents. Oh and I was quietly happy about having to pay an extra $30 a night for accommodation too

Why couldn't it be in Canberra they all have embassies there and cars, would of been cheaper. Talked to 1 bloke his business was in the exclusion zone no trade for 10 days, Who picks up this bloke losses, no one, just another poor self employed worker.

Christ I must be getting old. Its so easy to whinge these days

No, you're right Luke,

and sadly the reality is that that the whole shindig is a huge joke and a waste of tax payer's money, and we know how good Governments are at wasting tax payer's money.
