toploader trans wide vs close ratio

i need help i have a top loader mexican no tag looks like from mustangtec to be a 69 torino 351 possibley i turn the front imput shaft one one and 1/4 turns aprox for the rear output shaft one turn so what ive read was different anyone have any knowedge what i have or am doing wrong what it says the imput shaft should turn 2 1//4 times if close and 2 3/4 wide any help please thank you iam putting this in a 71 mustand i likely will have to make a adjustment to driveshaft to fit

The 4 speed 1st gear ratios are 2.78 for wide ratio and 2.32 for close ratio. Are you sure you have it in first gear? You are getting 1.25, which is closer to the 3rd gear ratios for both transmissions. It is closest to the close ratio, which is 1.29 in 3rd gear.

You want it to be in 1st gear. Then to be sure, you know it needs to be between 2 and 3 full turns.

thanks i had in 3rd vs 1st gear i have a wide ratio tg
