Anyone out there have a stock wheel that’s in good shape? Good contacts inside?? Hopefully off a working car so we know it works. Trying to replace one in the 71 I’m working on.  Last guy to work on it threw away the stock one and put on an aftermarket one. This car deserves a nice stock one. Interior is bone stock except the wheel. Maybe able to trade for this one if someone wants it!!  Let me know what you guys have!!

Kevin,

I looked for a few years for a nice stock one and almost gave up, but while browsing on CL one late Saturday nite, I found one in the same town as one of my projects.

I guess it was just dumb luck or that my wife really hated the late 70's mustang/truck sport wheel I was using. I would say, be patient, one will find you. I know that another member bought the new repro and it looks good to me, just a little pricey, IMO. I do have a center pad that is decent if you want it.

Let me know

Thanks, Jay

Kevin, I remember from some friends experience the trouble they had with horns not working properly or going off on their own (neighbors loved that at 3AM) with non stock wheels. I'm sure the ones available now are a lot better than the ones from the past. Without knowing if the car came with the base or deluxe wheel, I would say the deluxe wheel would be an easier find.

Considering the quality level of work you performed on that Mach 1, the owner would probably want the same for any wheel you install. If your search for a  decent used wheel falls through, I would check with Don @ Ohio Mustang Supply. He offers a repo two spoke wheel and the standard and deluxe horizontal  pads. Don was instrumental in working with the manufacturer to make sure this wheel was an exact and properly fitting replacement. As posted earlier, it may be a little pricey for some, but at least it would fit properly. And at a time when a lot repo parts are junk, don't fit and over priced, this would be a refreshing change.

You might even give Don a call to see if he is offering any "First week of Spring" discounts!    :D

Thanks guys!!!   Yes David please do!!!

I also messaged Don this morning.  He's always my go to for this stuff.  Just waiting to hear back from him.
If David and Don don't have any used ones, let me know and I will check the parts cars down at the garage for a nice one.

Thank you!! Don wasn’t able to find any good used ones but he did get me pricing on all new components.

I will wait and see what David comes up with.

I would like to give the owner a couple options.

Thanks for all the help guys!!!
