I hear you. Don't much like anyone but me and my mechanic touching the car. There is so much bad "advice" out there about

our cars. One local dealer wanted $750 to install a clutch and

I already had the clutch, that was for labor. It is a four hour

driveway job. We did it ourselves, the Centerforce works great.

Yeah there are a lot of shaddy mech out there. Even worse I live right by a miilitary base, so all the army mech think they are ASE certified and they know how to take off a tire or maybe cahnge oil in the bradley. Prices is so over inflated around here becasue of the idoit factor. Anyone who has every lived next to a military base knows what I am talking about. I hate letting others work on my car, even my new ones really. You hear about all these businesses doing unethical practicies trying to ensure you have to come back sooner so they can make more money is way wrong. I just say some one my spelling is wrong my bad

I got it completed. My dad let me do some after a hour long class on the fundementals. I started to grind them down and I am thinking about simply filling the bottom and not welding it, but if I do that what should I use

Man I understand all too well what your saying. I am glad I have at least some skill and knowledge because if I relied on anyone around Ft. Campbell for my automotive needs, I'd go broke, or the car would be broke.

yeah man I have been down that way and it is sad, everything is 30% more but they use the cheapest parts. Just becasue yo uare a Army mech does not make you a normal one, lol.......

Alright, I sanded, sanded, and sanded somemore. I got the welds down, every smoothed out and took out the rear quarters so I could clear the rust out from back there.

I prepped the whole pan and started the POR15.

Looks good::goodjob::

& yes lots of work... Only thing different is I recommend a far Superior product than por-15 for this work..Rust bullet..Easier to use..& better protection..Too late now but keep an eye on that...If por-15 isn't prepped 110% exactly as the instructions say..it will delaminate down the road. The other thing to consider is doing the under side of the car..The spray can undercoat does very little in the way of protection..You can go rust bullet or sem rust shield..both products get applied with a foam roller & foam brushes.. Then you could do your under coating on top of that..

now since My underbody is already coated can I simply place this rust bullet over it or do I need to sand it all the way down

Yeah like I said the guy who had it took really good care, and the rear quarters are the main reason the rust started, but yes I got really lucky

If it's undercoated it needs to come off

well I am willing to try anything to keep it around. any suggestions on what to use to get it off without hours of sanding and scraping

Heat gun & a scraper..Then wire wheel on a angle grinder /drill etc. I would use the sem rust shield..flat black..super easy to apply..& looks amazing..
