What is the capacity of the stock gas tank?

I have a maintainence manual that says it's 16.25 gallons for a 73. This seems small.


Owners manual says 16.2 'imperial' and 19.5 US. This seems more like it.

Good Evening Will, I just replaced mine a month back with a spectra premium OE replacement from Napa. Part # F32A. There spec sheet says it is indeed 20 Gal. Working at napa myself i called to verify for you today and it is 20 Gallons as per Spectra Premium.

Thanks guys. My gas gauge is shot, probably the float. I need to order one. So I have to watch the odometer.

It holds about $55.00 worth of regular @$2.71 a gal.:s

The napa Spectra Premium part number is FG87A for the whole sender.

I haven't found the part number for the napa float but the ford number is C0AZ-9202-B if you google it I'm sure one will pop up. Best of luck.

Fuel in my car leaves at a very fast rate. I ran out of gas the second day I had my car! I average between 9 - 12 MPG. Not that i really care because I really love driving it. Having owned the car for close to a year now I am way more comfortable with it now and give it some healthy exercise. It does like to go.
