Accidentally came across ConceptCarz site and found some interesting auction results as well as other data.

The auction results for the 1973 Mustangs show the average sales price of convertibles at over $19,000 with Mach 1's coming in at just over $14,000.

More mixed results for 71 and 72's. Of course the 71 Boss 351's commanded the highest value. Interesting how the 71 Fastback's averaged higher than the Mach 1's.

Looks like the data is from 2005 through 2013.

(Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger!)

What's interesting is that they show the details of each auction sale by individual car at the bottom of the webpage. So they are backing it up with what appears to be factual data.

It appears factual to me... At the end of the day the value is whatever someone is willing to pay and this is a good indicator. I found it interesting how the prices changed quite significantly from year to year. The '71's seem to have the highest value in their auctions. Also a lot of data on other cars for comparison. All-in-all I think this is great info and just another data point! Thanks for sharing!

They will never know the cars like you guys do! Guess it seems like they should do more research, but when you think about it there are so many cars that run through those auctions, how could they be experts in all of them? Oh well, they do know what they think they sold and for how much. Still good reference in my opinion...

Averages and estimates are made from data collected and may not be a true indication of the market. The data may or may not be a proper representation of the value of the vehicles shown on the "Overview" tab.

LOL..... I smell NADA

They lost me when they claimed the average price of 1972 Mustang Boss is $20,598, I would think a 72 Boss would be priceless!

Yea, especially since they never made a '72 Boss!

Boss 351s were '71 only.

In 1971 The Engine code ( R ) Stood for 351C Boss engine. In 1972/73 There was also A engine code ( R ) (From the Ford Book I quote. We have a name change. The 71 351 Boss engine is called a 351C H.O. in 72 with some major difference. The 72 H.O. heads are the "open type... but retain 71 sized ports and valve. Both heads are machined to except mechanical valve train components Unquote). There are other major difference as well but I want go into . From North Carolina, A 72 Mach owner.
