When the sun is out my rear spoiler gets hot and droops so much that the ends touch the trunk lid.  I have to assume the spoiler is one of the less expensive ABS type.  I would like to replace it but I am a little confused what to get.  I read in the forum, originally they were fiberglass so I thought fiberglass would be the way to go.  Then I read an add on ebay the original spoilers were not fiberglass, here is the ebay link, read the description:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mustang-Rear-Deck-Wing-Spoiler-1971-1973-Ford-Licensed-Product-/292763874335?vxp=mtr&hash=item442a16341f

Is the description accurate?  I know its a sales pitch but is it right that they were not made out of fiberglass?

The second thought is to go fiberglass, here is an example:

From my laptop they both look like good options.  Has anyone purchased either one of these or is there an option I am not seeing?  I only want to replace my current spoiler once, so I want to buy a very high quality and closest to original.  If anyone has input please let me know what you all think.

Thanks

Here is another option made out of ABS which is probably pretty strong....no idea which is the best one though.

Thanks Jeff.  I saw this type too, it is filled with foam, and I know foam breaks down over time and faster when it gets hot.  I am looking to see if anyone may have purchased a new spoiler in the last year or two and if they had any input.
Here is another one from NPD that is Concourse correct. Make sure to read the PDF at the bottom of page for more info...

There is nothing like original parts! I have one for $125. PM me if interested

I put a rolled up fleece blanket between the decklid and the spoiler(middle) in the winter for 4a 5 months.

:D

Sorry to say, but the NPD pfd give incorrect measurements. It shows 10 1/2" from the front edge to the center of the first hole. This 1" too far back. I know this because my car had the NPD so-called concours spoiler on it when I bought it. I have measured a friends Mach 1 with a factory installed spoiler and it measured 9 1/2". The 6 1/4" in from outer edge is correct. On the 429 Mustang and Cougar Megasite, this can be verified in the 'exterior' section. there is a picture of the holes on a factory lid with measurements.

I always thought that the positioning being off 1" might have been a way around  Ford's copyright.
