I am an estate sale company and am selling part of the estate collection of parts.
Today I am offering a pair of manifolds D0ae-9430-f and D0ae-9431-f. They have a lot of patina. They are located in Saginaw MI.
I'll ship, but as you know it'll be heavy. 1000037371.jpg1000037372.jpg1000037373.jpg

Just out of curiosity (not for Nancy per say) but just a general question for the group. Are these prices I am seeing for some of these old parts realistic? I can tell you that I know my current exhaust manifold pieces which are on the car, don't look much different (if not worse) than this and I would never even consider posting them for that kind of price, or charging at all. They are 50 years old, rusted and most likely will be the next thing I replace at some point, I can't imagine soaking someone for hundreds of dollars.

Perhaps this is me being uneducated in selling parts...and I know there are truly sought-after original pieces that validate the price, but I posted in another thread about the seats I ended up dumping from the coupe. I posted them on here briefly for free because they would have had to be completely redone, structure, foam, upholstry, etc....but prior to that, saw ones in far worse shape than even mine were going for 3-400 bucks. That seems crazy to me.

Just curious. As I pull off all this old stuff from the coupe (old cleaner, starter, seats, hinges, molding) I honestly couldn't see charging people for this stuff considering the condition. Perhaps that's just me not being aware of the value.

PBR,

You aren’t crazy. I see people post trash all the time (not necessarily here, but certainly CL, and FB Marketplace) with an astronomical ask price. Typically they “know what they got” and you wont be able to convince them otherwise. In my opinion a set of roached out exhaust manifolds is worth $50 on a good day. But you know what they say about opinions.

Regards,
Bill
