I’ll try and get a couple of better pictures. ThanksI have a 72 parts car that I can cut pieces out of. Need better pics to see where to cut.
Maybe $20 a side. $10-15 shipping.
I live in Charleston, Sc. The guy I bought it from is a buddy of mine and when he bought it back in 2004 he had a good bit of body work done to it. He gave me a bunch of pictures of the work being done. I know it wasn’t garage kept so maybe there is a leak somewhere? I don’t ever take it out in the rain or after it rains until it drys up. A pillar probably makes more sense as to location. Don’t know much about auto body work but do you think that’s fixable?I thought it was on the door jam after looking at the picture better that looks like its on the A pillar where the dash mounts. Never seen that before. Do you know where the car came from? Just curious.
Having followed this thread I am truly impressed by the many suggestions and support.Anybody have any suggestions on a short term solution and a permanent solution to fix this rust spot in the door jamb. I have one on each side.

I’d say that’s under the front of the door jamb by kick panel /door seal area. If you have metal skills …cut it out and Ospho as far back as possible. Than weld it flat stock 1/8” pieces to match the body contour. If not find someone who can. No quick fix . Kill the rust and find someone who can weld . It will not be a quick repair. It can be done.Anybody have any suggestions on a short term solution and a permanent solution to fix this rust spot in the door jamb. I have one on each side.
The window/door seal trim comes down fairly far. Could be the water is getting in around that as well. Especially where it coincides with the trim screws. When the screws are installed, any paint or primer gets stripped away. That's if the holes are drilled before paint and primer. If after, we'll, no protection at sll.Having followed this thread I am truly impressed by the many suggestions and support.
Evidently the root of the problem is cowl drainage.
Is there an aftermarket solution that ducts water and debris to the ground?likely not without problems and further complications.
A moot point once the car is in the hands of a knowledgeable owner.
Meticulous waterproofing of the cowl, neversiezed splash guard fasteners and possibly riveted rather than spot welded cowl cover should cover most eventualities.
All the best...
