Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

Thanks, That’s kinda what I was thinking too but having seen your amazing work on your project I thought I’d ask. If my interior turns out half as great as yours did I’d be thrilled.

Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

That’s a really great idea. Thanks for this and your great pictures. I wouldn’t have thought of using that but that’ll be perfect especially with the black paint. My firewall insulation looks to be in really good shape, at least what I’ve seen so far. So I’m hoping to not have to replace...

Is my sway bar on upside down?

I can’t say for sure but I think you may be right about it being upside down. There is a great thread that Jpaz started on 2/29/2020 called “Rear Sway Bar” and there’s lots of pictures. His thread is more about working with ADDCO to get their bigger rear bar designed right. You might find...

Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

Just posted my Intro, and now jumping into starting/sharing my project to upgrade the interior of my 73 convertible. Of course it's NOT a black interior, that would be too simple. It's Avocado, and I plan to keep it as true to color as I can. So let the challenges begin... I'm starting with...

    Long Overdue Intro from Michigan

Guess this is sort of an apology and my intro. My name is Bob, I've been a member of this forum for a number of years and have been mostly an "observer" enjoying all of your wisdom, wit/humor, and fantastic advice. It's more than time, infact very overdue on my part to become more of a...

    Help - Stuck Electric Connector

I'm kind of embarrassed with this post, but I'm stumped. This is the simplest of all electrical connections, but I can't separate it. I've even tried using vice grips while pulling back on the tab, but it's like it's glued together. I know the tab is lifted high enough to clear the "hump" but...

Relay Panel above glove box missing buzzer

Oh great! This is very helpful. Thank you very much. Another member PM’d with a part he had that I’m hoping will work. If not, this related thread you posted will certainly get me going. Thanks again! Bob

Another glove box relay/ buzzer post

I’m glad it helped. I just looked at your introduction post and saw your Marti Report which is great info. Midlife was right as always, your Mach1 didn’t come with the convenience group by that report.

Another glove box relay/ buzzer post

The connector you are holding is Connector C-702 on the wire diagram. It joins two harnessess above the glove box, 14401 & 13B712. The wires in the connector tie the Ignition/Key "on" input & the headlights "on" input to the associated warning buzzer that may have been removed, like on my car...

Relay Panel above glove box missing buzzer

I'm looking for help identifying a missing component on my Relay Panel. Opening it up, I found I'm missing what I think is a buzzer for the Key/Headlight Warning buzzer. I've looked at all of the great postings in here that have helped me determine this (Thanks especially Hemikiller, Mrgmhale...

1973 351C-4V Engine Gauge Feed Wiring and Vacuum Hose Mystery

This is fantastic! Thanks so much for both suggestions. I’ll start with the ebay listing. I looked there already but had no idea what it was called so of course came up empty.

1973 351C-4V Engine Gauge Feed Wiring and Vacuum Hose Mystery

I have the same question about this H-shaped connector. I’ve been trying to find a replacement myself but having no luck. My 73 was a May build date so I guess one of the last ones. Here’s what mine looks like. I discovered its condition this summer when my heater core ruptured and I was...

    71Convert Restoration Project Progress

Amazing work and wonderful details you’ve shared. Thank you so much. One question on your Molotow liquid chrome (which I learned of thanks to your thread)…What did you end up doing/using for your sealer to topcoat it to keep it from dulling?

    Spring compressor

+1 with RIBS on the spring compressor. This is what I use and love it. You just remove the shock absorber and put this in and bolt it to the spring perch. I got mine from a guy named TommyZees on eBay. He makes them himself, is a master welder and mustang enthusiast. Here’s a link…...

Maybe adding another 73 mach1 to the list in The Hill.

What a great movie! My wife & I just rented the DVD, it's out on the RedBox now and thouroughly enjoyed it. The story was great. The cars were fun, absolutely fun seeing these rough cars from back in the day. GiantPune your car was awsome in this movie, it ran great and definitely showed...

    Hunting a voltage leak

Talk about a timely thread. I have been dealing with this exact issue for years and haven’t been able to locate the culprit. So I’m following this with great interest. Because I haven’t been able to find it, I put a battery disconnect switch on the negative terminal. After every drive I open...

    71 Convertible for parts

I'm interested in a pair of the 73 captive motor mounts for my 73 Q-code Vert if they'll fit. I know there's been a lot of posts about how to modify different mounts to work for this special 73 year and for the coupe/fastback or the convertible frames...way over my head. Thanks, Bob
