    FMX Linkage diagram

    I have never done this on a Mustang with an FMX, but I have had this issue with GM and Mopar transmissions, and I will tell you what I can see from the diagram, and what I have done on other vehicles. The shift rod 7340 is adjustable, look at the square with the 7340 rod where it says to "engage...

    Boss price

    Hemmings does not vet postings, as far as I know they never have, and I doubt they ever will. I don't think any of these companies do, if you claim to vet the ad, then you become liable for any discrepancies or fraud involved with the car. None of these companies want the liability involved...

    AC Blower speed

    I have never had that issue. I would imagine that something is not right with the new blower motor. The only suggestion is to check the voltage going to it on the high setting, as far as I know, when it is in the high setting you should be getting 12 volts to it. If it is not, then something may...

    Air Condition o-ring retrofit for R134. Does it work

    You can definitely do it. I have done it in a 72 olds, but it has never been as cold as with R12. It works, and it will keep you cool, it just may take a while longer to get there and again not as cold as R12. You do need to vacuum the system to get everything out of it, you need a different...

    Hit the worst pothole in my life....help..

    As long as it is not hitting you are good. I beat mine up with a 3 pound hammer and it went back to straight, you probably needed a bigger hammer. :)

    Stronger/tighter throttle return springs

    That is a very mild cam, I really find it very interesting that you had to drill the throttle plates to get the idle AF ratio right. You really should not have to drill holes in a Holley carb that is on a very mild engine build. Holley must be doing something strange these days. I never saw that...

    Hit the worst pothole in my life....help..

    Take a close look at the first photo, you can clearly see where the spring cover is bent into an S shape. On the top photos on the top part of the photo look at the screw that is protruding through the apron, now look straight down and you will see the end of the stud that is on the shock cover...

    Hit the worst pothole in my life....help..

    I had this exact same issue of the spring hitting the spring cover on one side of the car. This happened was after I had replaced everything in the front suspension. including the springs, upper and lower control arms, shocks, all bushings, all the tie rods, rotors, calipers, brake hoses etc...

    Stronger/tighter throttle return springs

    Drilling holes in the primary throttle plates is an old Holley trick for cars that have big cams in them. The Elgin cam that the OP is using is only [email protected], so he shouldn't have to drill holes in the primary plates to get it to idle correctly. How big is the cam you are running?

    Stronger/tighter throttle return springs

    Seems like maybe your throttle cable is keeping the carb butterflies open or maybe the return spring you have is just too weak, or you could have a vacuum leak. Remove your throttle cable from the carb and see if it drops down to where the normal idle should be, if it does then you have found...

    Mach 1 project...value?

    I agree with Hemikiller, easy 15K, but if it is cleaned tires put on it and it is running, who knows what it could bring. I would clean it, get it running if possible and put it on eBay and see what happens, it may just surprise you. That is a fairly rare car in a very desirable color combo with...

    Edelbrock = 465HP?

    Bolting on heads is a relatively simple job, that can be done in a day, as long as you thoroughly clean all the mating surfaces and torque everything to spec by the book. If you have a stock valvetrain it will be much simpler, if you have an adjustable valvetrain it will be a bit more involved...

    Edelbrock = 465HP?

    Any 351 C with any of the OEM iron 4V heads, even the open chamber type, can easily make 400 hp with just a cam, intake/carb, and headers as long as we have a good serviceable short block. The only caveat is the compression ratio of the open chamber heads with stock pistons. If you can get into...

    timing chain very tired

    I do not doubt that the owner was never able to figure out why the car was running so bad. Diagnosing an engine miss to a stretched timing chain is no easy feat. Most people will go nuts with timing and carburetion, never thinking they could have a timing chain issue.

    Crank/Cam timing question

    The 4 degree timing retard is ground into the cam, so just replacing the timing chain will not do it. As Hemikiller said, you will need to get an adjustable timing chain and use the 4 degree advance setting on the chain sprocket.

    Holes in rear floor

    If I recall correctly there are some holes in the tunnel that are there for screws and brackets that hold the fuel tank vapor lines that go from the fuel tank to the vapor canister in the engine compartment, you could be looking at some of those too, besides the ones for the muffler hangers.
