1972 convertible
For the hive mind:
I rebuilt the shifter bucket on my 72 convertible and while doing so found the shift lever grommet to be coming from together. I ordered one from the web but it looked decidedly different. the original one is brown and conical on one end. The new one is simply a double flanged (?) grommet with a small plastic sleeve. the lever's grommet hole is 1/2" but the replacement diameter is approximately 23/32". The only part number I can find is 7341. Can anyone provide the actual part number and or where to source one? the original is made from some kind of oil impregnated material and the replacement I ordered is just black rubber. The car is a 1972, convertible w/a 351C, FMX and 9", no A/C (if any of that matters) Pic included of the part I ordered
Thanks in advance
