Today I purchased a second cleveland to build. I was going to build my 2V motor, I had already picked up a set of CJ 4V heads, open chamber. This engine is from a 71 Mach. It has the closed chamber heads, and has been bored .040, new cam etc.

My question is I have the Ram Air setup, and want to get an aluminum intake that will work, and I think I have read on here that the Edelbrock Air gap will not work because the deck is too high, but I can't find the thread. The alternate I believe is the Edelbrock performer. Can anyone that has a similar setup comment please?

Thanks!

My 71 M code has a functioning ram air system with the Edelbrock performer intake on it. If the Air Gap is more than 1/2" taller than the Performer, it would be to tall (at least for my car). The 1/2" might even be to high, the hood sit "snuggly" down on the rubber seal.

I have a 71 4V with functional ram air. It's perfect with the intake on the car. I don't remember if its the Edlebrock Performer or performer RPM. I'll look when I get back home.
