71 Mach1 painting

Wow. Now it really makes me wonder why this car was missing paint at the gas cap.

Here are the pics of the hood blackout underneath. Original and my rendition of it.

Does anyone know if the black out on the tail panel was for all 71-73's, or just Mach 1's, or just 71 and 72's ? I don't recall it on any of my 71-73 cars, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there. I just may not have ever noticed it on the Machs. It definitely wasn't on my 73 Gold Glow Sportsroof though, I knew that car like the back of my hand.

Do you have finished pictures of this car? This is exactly how my car is supposed to be painted like with no side stripes with bottom trim. Very hard to find pictures of these cars, every one seems to put the stripes on them.

Paint dude called today, and now the "pick up to paint" is again postponed until this Tuesday evening. Car has been running outside for hours to get rid of old **** gas. Shure hope it runs out soon or this entire day will be wasted...
