72 Conv Roof Handle

Hi,  

Trying to replace my 72 convertible roof latch.  Does anymore know the size/style of the main screw?    It appears to be a star by feel,  but I'm not sure since it's not really visible. Thinking I might be able to ratchet with onto it, maybe.

I have a broken handle on one side of mine. I do not think you can get the screw out with the top on. I will look today I have a bare top in the shop. I think it is a big phillips if memory serves me right.

Will check today and let you know.

Yes it is a BIG FAT Phillips head and is not accessible with the top on!

Here are a couple pictures from the top side with the top removed. I see no way of getting in there without pulling the top loose on the corner. Looks like some of the linkage is riveted did not look close but appears to be riveted to the handle.

Thank-you, my top has a couple of small rips and at some point, I'll fix the handle then.  I don't want to lift the roof on that side to open, it may not go back correctly plus the rivets will need to be removed.  I've read folks use sex' bolts to repair.  LOL
