Hello all,

Just wanted to share my experience in putting new ACC molded carpet. After removing my old carpet and fixing floor pans surface rust and some rust holes I was ready to install the carpet. It was done by mobile restoration upholstery shop. I could have done it but I want it to be 100% perfect without any issues. It came out perfect. They did a great job and I couldn't be any happier. They used glue as well to keep it tight. Very professional.

Pics are attached. Enjoy.

Are your scuff plates in the right place? I thought they went further up the carpet & overlapped the front & rear trim?

Nice job though. I had to do mine on my own...never use the mass backed stuff folks, the very tough backing is a PITA to cut for seat belt holes etc.

Good eye!!! I believe it should be closer to the trim pieces. I almost did the same thing when I installed my carpets. You really don't notice it as the did a good job with the installation.

At first I thought it was my car that was wrong (I got it in pieces) but looking at pics on the '429 Megasite' it seems mine is ok. I had to fit my interior in an extreme hurry to make a wedding job, which was a bit worrying.

Looks great, I just did my carpet last night in my 73 Mach 1 myself, looks awesome just like yours. I didn't get the Mach 1 carpeting though, I just went with the standard carpet kit. Did it in the garage while waiting to drop the 521 drivetrain in.

First - that Avocado interior looks unbelievable, and the new carpeting makes it look immensely inviting; the feeling of wanting to run your toes through AstroTurf.

That said, the scuff plates are, in fact, upside down. The visual trick is that the Ford badges have been installed upside-down as well; hence, they appear correct now. Take a look at the screw offset in this picture:

Amer - it looks awesome! ::thumb::

But Kurt's right - the scuff plates are on backwards. Probably just get a new set of the Ford decals, flip the scuff plates around, and put the new decals on over the top of those that are upside-down. But if the doors aren't having any problems sealing up or scraping the scuff plates themselves, you might consider just leaving them alone.

Whatever you decide to do, it looks great - your guys did an excellent job!

Thank you all :) I just realized they were backwards, but actually they dont scrap or anything so I think I will leave them alone. You have to love these forums how second eye spots mistakes. Great job guys.

I'd suggest flipping them back around, as it reduces the chances of accidentally pulling out the carpet, kick panel, or damaging the interior quarter at the screw tab that mounts it to the rocker.

Having them installed the safe way and not having to worry about them snagging anything unknown is a much safer bet - even if it means the Ford decals will be 180 degrees for a week or two.
