If this is in the wrong thread forum, I apologize everyone. I plan to pull an entire dash and center console to include the ac controls and box from a 2010 or newer mustang and fit it into my 71. I would like to know if anyone has any knowledge pertaining to whether or not the under hood components will connect to the air box under the new dash. I will replace the stock components with a classic auto air engine compartment upgrade kit which allows everything to run the newer coolant 134a. I have tried finding pictures of both sets of components to match it up, but haven't had any luck. Does this sound like a feasible project to anyone? Thanks for the input!

I installed a complete replacement Classic Auto Air "Perfect Fit" kit into mine, and everything was really pretty painless during the install. Since my controls were toast, I sprung for their new control unit, and it was a snap to install as well.

As for 2010 heater controls (I'm not at all familiar with them), you might contact Classic Auto Air and see if they have some kind of adapter or pin-out for their plugs they'd be willing to share. The CAA control unit is totally electronic, and has rheostat-like sliders that hook up to the normally cable-driven controls, that in-turn plug into the CAA control unit. There are two separate control cables for 'Mode' and 'Temperature,' one for each slider on the vintage control panel. If you can figure out how to connect the 2010 controls (which I'm assuming are electronic), it could be as simple as a plug-in deal as well.

Good luck with it!

As the old saying goes "where there's a will, there's a way" You may have to have a custom hose or 2 made

I also used CAA to update my air. Though the car came with air they helped me reconfigure the engine compartment to move all the connections to the passenger side. They are going to provide all the custom hoses once I am ready for them. They have been really good to work with.

awesome guys, i guess i will contact caw and see if maybe they just have to change out the fittings on the hoses and see if i can get a pin out for their plug, it may just be a splice in job to the factory 2010 control module. thanks again!
