Which end of this do I attach the vacuum source, or does it matter?

Also, the Ford manual says to check the bi-metal switch to see if the

bleed valve is seated, any ideas on how to do that? We are doing a

re-install of the original air cleaner and the switch is NOS as is the

heat riser tube I bought from Don of OMS.
