Sellers are getting destroyed at the North East BJ auction. With a few exceptions, very few cars are bringing what I thought they would. I guess I'll be keeping my 72 at least another year.

 
Yes it sure looks like the only folks making money is Barrett-Jackson. And just with all the TV and promotions - they make a LOT.

When I was young (mid-late 60's thru mid 70's) my dad and I would go to the Hudson-Marshall auction held in Oklahoma City.

My dad pretty much explained the auctions the same way. The fees were terrible - even back then.

The only folks that might come out OK were the ones that drove or trailered their collector cars there, parked outside nearby and put a For Sale sign in the window. Others would sell their cars after the auction. I have heard these things are not allowed now.
