So I bought a new book recently. "Rebuild and modify c4 and c6 automatic transmissions" by George Reid. And in it he continually mentions the c5 transmission and how it has a locking torque converter. According to him it's a straight swap to put said converter on a c4, as long as you use the c5's bellowing. The problem is he warns over and over that the c5 bellhousing won't fit in a mustang because it's wider. But our mustang and the 2 years prior are big block mustangs. Will the c5 converter fit in our cars? And has anyone seen any point in doing that swap?

I have a good working locking C5 torque convertor and the bellhousing to go with it from a 1986 mustang I used to have. The c5 bellhousing is deeper for the larger convertor.
