you can get a tranny rebuilt for pretty much the same price. I got mine rebuilt with a shift kit added for 900$. they also gave me a 3 year guarantee because they know I only drive it in the summer.

Yes, this could be a GREAT find for someone who is trying to restore a '71 with the 429CJ/SCJ motor.

If I had not recently purchased a Broader 1000HP unit for my 545, I would probably follow up on this one.
